INITIAL IDEA

MY BASIC IDEA OF WHAT TYPE OF FILM I WANT TO DO:
i have chosen to make my film in the gangster/violence genre, because i have always enjoyed quite gritty and violent gangster films such as:
-Snatch (guy ritchie)
-lock, stock and two smoking barrels (guy ritchie)
-Rocknrolla (guy ritchie)
-Revolver (guy ritchie)
-Scarface (brian de palma)
-Casino (martin scorcesse)
-American Gangster (ridley scott)
-Essex Boys (terry winsor)
-Donnie Brasco (mike newell)
-The Untouchables (brian de palma)
-Mean Streets (martin scorcesse)
-....any many more.
I personally prefer English Gangster to American Gangster films. so i think i am going to base my films around that gritty, east-end style of film.
In my opening, i want to get across, who the main characters are BUT not to much, maybe just there name and what they look like, and an idea of what the film is going to be about (i.e. drugs, sex, rock and roll and violence), erm and ... thats it! i didnt want to give to much away in the first moments of the film.
Maybe add some stop animation to introduce the characters name, but it might make the film look a bit comedy, and i want the film to be quite serious.
